Made In Isolation is a two part EP by the group The New Examples. It was written and recorded during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, while singer-songwriter Ryan Coleman was
quarantined at home. The record is based on sounds and instruments Coleman had been collecting for a year or so. “I wanted it to sound like an 80’s music diary with these vintage synths and drum machines. Like if you were trapped in a room with a 4-track, in 1985, with
some cool guitars and keyboards.” Made In Isolation is available on all digital and streaming platforms, with Vol 2 due out soon.
About Us
The New Examples are a Murfreesboro Tennessee band that play
their own blend of original music. Drummer Jamie Christian and singersongwriter Ryan Coleman began performing together as an acoustic
duo in 2009, playing everything from club cover gigs to original music
sets at the First Center; Nashvilles finest art museum. Bassist Mark
McMahon began with the band helping with production and recording
before crash course in bass and taking on a more musical role.
During the quarantine of early 2020 Ryan produced and released Made In Isolation from some demos he and Mark had been working on and The New Examples were born. The members draw from the influences of their childhood: 80’s music, college rock, alternative and grunge, and classic rock. Each member makes other creative contributions as well; Jamie edits videos, Ryan takes photos and does graphic design, and Mark helps with the production of the videos. Another EP, Made In Isolation Vol 2, is completed and being mastered for release now.
